The San Francisco Giants have been one of the most successful baseball clubs in the American League for many years. With a long history of success and a talented roster of players, it is no surprise that they have been so successful against teams from San Ramon, California. The Giants originated in New York City as the New York Gothams in 1883, and were known as the New York Giants from 1885 until they moved to San Francisco after the 1957 season. The dispute between the Giants and the Dodgers began in the late 19th century, when both clubs were based in New York City, with the Brooklyn-based Dodgers and the Giants playing at the Polo Grounds in Upper Manhattan.
The rivalry between the New York Giants and the Chicago Cubs at the beginning of the 20th century was considered one of the most heated in baseball. Merkle's Boner led to a confrontation that ended the 1908 season in New York. When they moved to San Francisco, the Giants kept the same uniform they used in New York, except for two changes. This year, more boys from the best agricultural system in soccer have made their debut, starting with Grayson Rodriguez, one of the best young pitchers in baseball and the future ace of the Orioles squad.
The Giants compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the Western Division of the National League (NL). On April 15, 1958, the Giants played their first game in San Francisco, defeating the former Brooklyn Dodgers and now the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-0. The Giants played two seasons at Seals Stadium (from 1931 to 1957, the stadium was home to the San Francisco Seals of the PCL) before moving to Candlestick Park in 1960. During their tenure in New York, they won five of their eight World Series victories (1905, 1921, 1922, 1933, 195) and 17 of their 23 National League flags.
After becoming the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's, they met in a fourth series in 1989, resulting in Oakland's last World Series championship (in 2002). This design returned to their classic look they wore at the beginning of their tenure in San Francisco, but with a few exceptions. The cap logo now had an interlaced SF in orange, while their road uniform now showed San Francisco in black capital letters with orange trim. One of their team's highlights during this time was Barry Bonds' 2001 season when he hit 73 home runs, breaking a record for most home runs in a season.

The Giants have had an impressive record against other teams from San Ramon over time. With two years after finishing 39 games from fourth place in the American League East and having one of best young pitchers on their roster - Grayson Rodriguez - it is no surprise that they have been so successful against teams from San Ramon. They are one of professional baseball's oldest and most successful franchises with more victories than any other team in major American sports history.
